THIS AGREEMENT ("Agreement") is made between The Environmental Emergency Response System of Canada (TEERS-canada), Inc., a humanitarian, not-for-profit corporation and the members, both present and future, of the (team name) Rescue Team of (location) , (country) , an humanitarian brother organization.
The signatories to this international, cooperative agreement hereby agree:
- That a condition of this agreement is that we shall operate without regard to race, color, religion or politics;
- That our rescue teams shall operate as local, national and international humanitarian rescue and educational organizations;
- To become affiliated rescue organizations with full membership privileges in each organization extended to the membership of the cooperative organization and to work together as a joint team at international major disasters.
- To cooperate fully as brother organizations dedicated to saving lives
- To work jointly to develop a standard method of disaster management and response in order to create a more effective, unified international approach to the mitigation process from both man made and natural disasters; and to exchange technical training and expertise
- To jointly undertake programs and projects, both national and international, that prevent environmental damage caused by man made and natural disasters in populated and remote areas;
- To protect the safety and welfare of children during a major disaster;
- To undertake to liaise with our respective countries government representatives and disaster planners, to help plan for a rapid acceptance of international assistance, should the need arise;
- To undertake to run local responders programs in developing and remote areas of the world, therefore utilizing local resources during disasters;
- To initiate and actively assist in the establishment of programs that preserve, conserve and enhance the environment and the ecological balance;
- To provide opportunities for the development of potential urban and rural leaders through participation, training and actual field work;
- To involve the general public in environmental emergency response through education.
